metric1.zip (www.caddepot.com/blocks/metric1.zip)
The accompanying Block files are a set of metric screws and nuts that I put together due to a distinct lack of availability on metric fasteners in shareware form. The sets are made up from various information sources and I believe that the size, pitch and depth of the screws are correct. The head and nut sizes are correct and the washers are within tolerances. They are not however 100% accurate. That is, the profile of the screws do not have a root chamfer nor the top of the thread flattened etc. I did not include these properties because of the detail needed and with the general use of the screw sets you would not need to see them in your drawing. This is not the definitive screw set and I intend to extent the range to include more screw lengths and head types etc Liam D.C. Nolan e-mail:rose@iol.ie

Nest103Local.zip (www.caddepot.com/blocks/Nest103Local.zip)
NEST v1.03.02 *NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGE VERSION* by Donald Butler is a revolutionary new way to modify Color, Layer, Plotstyle, Linetype, Linetype Scale, Line Weight and even Visibility of most AutoCAD objects, even ones buried deep inside of blocks or Xrefs. Once you've used NEST, you'll wonder how you got by without it. Have you ever wanted to change some or all objects in a block to ByLayer or to a certain color? It's easy with NEST. How about the ability to hide certain attributes? Nothing to it. Say you have a block inside a block with an attribute, such as a date, you'd like to edit. AttEdit won't work but NEST will and you guessed it, it's easy. A typical use is this, you're in a mad rush as usual and go to plot an Xref'ed drawing and find colors or plotstyles have been hardcoded by a well meaning consultant. Since you want to control the plot with your layer settings, what do you do? Open up the Xref's and edit them? Refedit? Maybe, but it's easier with NEST around. NEST operates on an elementary level, independent of layer settings. You operate on entire groups of objects or just a single nested object. Selection and Nested Object Filtering allows you to choose just the types of objects to modify, such as the ability to modify just the circles or attributes in a nested insert. Xref's are not physically touched and revert to their saved states the next time their re-loaded. A unique feature is called DEA or Direct Entity Access. This unique feature allows selection by crossing window, crossing polygon or fence of objects inside blocks! You'll need to play with this to get the hang of it. Another feature is the ability to open an Xref for editing by just clicking on it. Sorry, NEST works only with AutoCAD 2000 at this time minumum 800x600 screen resolution! NOTE: Please take the time to read the on-line help file while using.
