Architectural/Engineering Scale.dwg (www.caddepot.com/blocks/a_scale-e_scale.zip)
These dwg files were created by me to assist archtectural, engineering and mechanical engineers who use AutoCad 2000 (they were designed in AutoCad 2000 but can be saved in a earlier version with the proper Acad program).

The drawings are of architectural and engineering scales drawn to exact mathematical dimensions at 1:1 scale. The drawings can be useful to various designers who create architectural, mechanical, and engineering drawings (both 2D and 3D)and who would like an on-going measure of the accuracy of their designs.

The drawings can be inserted into AutoCad 2000 at a 1:1 scale (But not exploded!) and used to adequately measure 2D and 3D architectural, engineering, and mechanical drawings.

The architectural scale contains the standard 1, 1/2, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 3/4, 1 1/2, 3, 3/32, 3/16, and 16 dimensions on a standard architectural scale. The engineering scale contains the 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 dimensions on the standard engineering scale.

The drawings once inserted into a drwaing can be rotated to the correct scale dimensions needed with the 3D ROTATE Command in AutoCad 2000 (the angular distance between each scale horizontal dimension point is 120 degrees as on a standard scale).

I have found these two scales very useful when I use them to measure my architectural and mechanical drawings on an on going basis as I am developing them. Also, I have found them useful when I receive other drawings either on the internet or on cd and I need to measure the internal dimensions of a drawing. The scales are easier i found than using the DIST, LIST, or AREA commands of Autocad because as an inserted block the layers for each dimension were created seperately and can be turned off individually without affecting the scales needed dimension and the scale itself can be dynamically moved over a drawing to measure different points and locations on a drawing.

I hope Autocad users find they just as useful. If anyone has any comments as to how to improve the drawings they can email me at sampckns@aol.com.

Att2XLDemo.zip (www.caddepot.com/blocks/Att2XLDemo.zip)
A very simple program to send AutoCAD version 2000+ insert attributes to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet database. Although there are several programs available that do much more, in terms of linking, etc..., this program was designed to be extremely simple and fast. All I wanted to do was to get my attribute data into Excel. Just select the block on screen to establish it's name and then select all inserts to include using any of AutoCAD's selection methods, i.e. Window etc.. It is assumed the user has a fair knowledge of Excel. The program relies on the user to manipulate attribute data once in Excel. No sorting, Pivot Table functions or hot linking is performed. If all you want to do is send your attributes to Excel for reporting, this will do it. Tested on Excel Versions 8 and 10.

attext.exe (www.caddepot.com/blocks/attext.exe)
Xtracta allows you to extract block attribute values from AutoCAD drawing files at lightning speed without even owning a copy of AutoCAD! You simply specify what attribute tags you want to extract in a text file and the program does the rest! With Xtracta it's possible to extract from many drawing files at a time! After extracting the data you have the option of importing the data to a file, the Clipboard, MS Excel, or MS Access. Works with AutoCAD drawing files release 10 up to release 2000. No serious AutoCAD user should be without Xtracta! [keywords: Extract Block Attributes, Drawing File, attext]

AttFlip (www.caddepot.com/blocks/attflip.zip)
AttFlip - is a function used to ensure that a blocks's attributes are always readable to the screen regardless of the block's rotation angle. It also has the ability to flip and rotate groups of attributes.

Attribute Fixer (www.caddepot.com/blocks/IATT.zip)
This program should be put in your "TOOL CHEST" for use in an emergency. This is another offering from the author of NEST103.

When a user inserts a block created from Attributes only, the Insert becomes unselectable if all attribute values are empty (NULL). The Insert becomes invisible for all practical purposes. This can happen during batch Attribute editing, etc...

This program will find these orphaned Inserts and place Dummy values in the Attributes so you can find, select and then edit the Inserts.

AttributeSuit2002 (www.caddepot.com/blocks/attributesuit2002setup.exe)
AttributeSuit2002 is used to modify the properties such as Layer, Color, Height, Width Factor etc of attributes with same TAG nested in blocks.

As one of the most powerful attributes editors, AttributeSuit2002 can provide users an more powerful extension in modification of the nested attributes: the contents and the properties.

To make modification of the contents, AttributSuit2002 provides users six ways in modification: Add Prefix; Suffix; Substitute content; To a unique content string; Clear all content string; Use block width (DXF41). All of these can give users more help on modification of the contents.

To modify the properties, you can set the Text Style, Layer, Color, Rotation, Width Factor and even the location of attributes according to the parent block.

We think that AttributeSuit2002 will be your right choice in using the nested attributes within AutoCAD!
